Finding fonts introduction
In this blog post I will be trying to find a suitable font for my sports drama movie. I will have to take in account the normal conventions of fonts found in sports dramas. Conventions such as sans-serif, sans-serif is an almost always used when it comes to sporting dramas. This is due to sans-serif being used in movies with more serious tone.
The first site I will be looking at is Dafont.
Dafont is a site that allows the free download of fonts however the interior of the website is somewhat hard to navigate. Another downside of Dafont is that the fonts aren't categorised by film genre which can leave you wasting time trying to find a vote which is suitable for a genre, for example sports dramas.
The second website I will be looking at is Fontmeme.
Fontmeme has a wide variety of different fonts that were actually used in movies,Tv serious and video games, this allows finding a suitable font for your genre easy and also the simplify of the design of the website allows navigating it to be a breeze. The downside to fontmem is that the fonts found on the website all have to be purchased though the website
The third website I will be looking at is Linotype
Linotype separates its fonts from genre and also Oscar nominated, however a downside to this is that it only goes back to 2013. The website is also a little bit hard to navigate as to find fonts used in movies can only be found after clipping on a drop list and looking towards the bottom of it. Linotypes fonts also have to be purchased.
