Opening sequence and character- The greatest showman

The first movie I will be analysing is "The greatest showman"

After Watching the opening sequence the audience can tell:

  • The main character can be identified straight away due to the use of mine-en-scene.
  • In centre of the screen
  • From the beginning he seems confident, strong and a leader the reason for this conclusion is due to his dominant role within the whole performance
  • The bright lights and performers then fade into darkness as it fills the room and the man is left by himself in the darkness showing a deeper look into the showman's life and that behind his job of being a showman he's actually lonely and venerable
  • We then see a graphic match of him when he is younger which implies that he still thinks about his childhood
