During the movie the girl Rose has invited her lover Chris to meet her parents in a upstate, white, suburban town. As the weekend continues more and more weird occurrences happen to Chris which unwind to many dark and sinister secrets. The movie opening sequence sets up a antagonist. You see a African American male walking down the road however their is something off. The man then sees a car go past him then slowly turn around. The man acknowledges this and starts to try to leave the situation however the car is then put into perspective of the camera and we see that the car Is stopped in the middle of the road with the car door open. The man then turns around and is quickly grabbed and is knocked on conscious and is dragged into a boot of the antagonists car, all this happening with jolly music in the background which creates a even more sinister tone to start the movie off. This gives the viewers a small bit of extra knowledge that the protagonist Chris wont have. The opening scene does a great job of creating a silent but uneasy setting. The man walking down the road doesn't seem to acknowledge the car in the way the audience does. This creates a feeling of worry because the audience is watching the car slowly turn around were as the man does not. Shortly after the man turns around and sees that the car door is wide open with the driver no were to be seen. This immediately sets of all red alarms for the audience dew to us seeing the car slowly turn back around. Whilst the audience is pondering in their heads about where the driver has gone the man is quickly snatched up and gets dragged towards the boot of the car whilst his body slowly goes limp. It is made even more menacing when the extremely jolly song ''Run Rabbit Run'' is playing in the car of the antagonist. The song is then made into the soundtrack of the film whilst the man is struggling against the killer which creates a extremely twisted scene. This creates a extremely strong foundation for the movie as it leaves us with a mystery and an antagonist.
