Opening Scenes - Establishing Setting

Opening sequences - setting up locations/settings

In the opening sequences of lion king it uses a variety of different types of shots to give the audience a sense of the place the movie will be set, etc showing rivers, mountains and large fields filled with wildlife. From the first sequence you can tell that the movie is set in a country filled with all different types of exotic animals. The opening scene uses many shots from the distance away so that you can get a feel of how vast and open the country is. Their is also a song playing in the back ground of the scene which speaks about Africa and mentions things such as the weather being extremely hot and the sun being red. This video also shows the amazing colour that emphasises the wildlife in the setting.

The opening scene from the shinning shows the audience that if anything happens no one will be able to do anything due to the fact it is in the middle of no where. The camera fly's through the scene showing a mountain's range, going past a massive beautiful lake and shows a small yet free forest. The further and further the camera goes the more isolated the area gets this is to emphasise the scene of isolation. The viewers know that if anything happens to a character their will be no one to help. The opening scene goes a good job to create a uneasy feeling
